Did anyone try recharging at RV camp grounds? They have 30A outlets.

Yes, some have done that with NEMA 14-50 adapters.

Yes, some people do, but from what I've heard it's sort of a pain.

I read somewhere the scheme somebody had for charging at RV parks: tell whoever is in charge they're going to be spending xx number of time there, charge for a couple hours, then make up some sort of excuse and tell them you gotta leave.

I garner the people in charge of RV parks probably don't like EVers.
