What’s the mileage when a new 2022 SR M3 is charged to 100%

No idea, but in the summer my April 2021 M3 LR showed 307 miles when charged to 90%.
The cold has reduced that by about 25% on short trips. Wh/m has fallen from close to 200 in the summer ( I saw 198 once) to more like 270 and sometimes over 300.

do you mean what shows up on the screen? Because I think thats always a straight ratio of battery % to EPA rating. It seems to disregard WLTP which is only used for sales material. I don’t think the RWD is available in the US with 60kwh battery yet so I would be curious what figure they use. It’ll be less than 317 though - that’ll need you to hit 208wh/mile I think to achieve it and it’ll never show that in the display (but might in the energy graph which is the only place that adapts to your driving style and energy usage over recent miles)

current RWD in the US shows 272 so adding 10% for the larger battery would give you around 299/300

The LFP buffer was decreased from 5.50 kWh to 2.40 kWh (in around Nov-21)

NEW.jpg

Usable remaining (when new) 42.0 / 0.847 = 49.6 kWh @ 100%

NOW.jpg

Usable remaining (now) 50.1 / 0.992 = 49.6 kWh at 100% = 50.5 kWh @ 100%

Difference in Energy buffer = 5.5 - 2.4 = 3.1 kWh

Now, if I adjust for the decrease in Energy buffer the Usable Remaining would be (50.1 - 3.1) / 0.992 = 47.4 kWh @ 100%

Degradation over the lifetime of the car would be 1 - (47.4 / 49.6) = 4.5%

Using Nominal full pack data it would be 1 - (52.9/ 55.1) = 4.0%

However, TeslaFi is showing only 2.25% degradation based on BMS range when charged to 100% charge!

Make of this, as you will...

Nov 21 60kwh I believe. Was 272, now 267 with 5k miles. Most AC charging at home. 18” with the aero covers off. Yesterday I had a theoretical range of around 260 miles, mostly motorway, AC on and some start stop traffic.
Same as mine although aero covers on. Nov ‘21 ‘unicorn’ with old 5.3 acceleration but new 60Kwh battery.

Was 272 now 267, not an issue for me.

2019 M3 SR+ I start off with 230 miles

What’s the approx starting mileage when battery is charged to 100% on a standard M3 (thinking about ordering a 2022) now - 317 miles is advertised on 18 inch wheels .
Hi chap I got my M3 LFP battery in March and I got 273 miles at 100% . Told the car I’ve taken the aero covers off and I get 267 now . Use it everyday to do 120 miles and it’s never been below 60% or so never worry about the range even when stuck on the M25 ( it uses naff all battery even when it’s 30 outside ) . Hope this helps .
