I am not talking about cancelling before the estimated delivery period but right about that time frame, and maybe then some.

This question is more apt for those are used to driving luxury cars or those who are thinking a well spec'd M3 will be an up-market move.

I hope no one is cancelling because of the lack of heated steering wheels.

I would be very tempted to cancel if heated steering wheel is still not available by the time Dual Motors are in production in "late 2018" for us.

My wife would definitely refuse to drive it in the winter without the heated steering wheel.
I may not cancel out right, but I probably would not click the configure and buy button until it has one.

I am also not happy about the lack of homelink, but I can deal with it. I honestly can't remember that last time I need to clip a garage remote on the sun visor.

    I like the idea of the M310 range/power, and AP2, but ...
No need for a glass roof, upgraded stereo, power seats, or anything else that adds weight that I won't use.
Bet the roof, stereo, and PS add 200lb over steel, base radio, fabric seats. Worth some performance.

Lack of the Cold Weather Package outside of the PUP. I have no interest in the other items in the PUP whatsoever.

I'd have to think twice if no OEM or 3rd party hitch was on the horizon, but if the Model 3 takes off in sales that seems really unlikely to be a problem. The thing is, I want the Model 3 to be the versatile car in the family, able to do the jobs our LEAF cannot.

Like outrun a bicycle? Or go all the way to the corner and back without recharging? Drive where dairy cows can see it without them giving sour milk? ;)

    Kidding...

Ergonomics look hard to come by. If you measure them by "What would make me want to put AP on?", I think Model 3 will be a hit. For driving, and simultaneously operating the display, I think the jury is out. I don't know what to make of things, like wipers on a touch screen, and will have a list I'm going to try and execute.

Agree about the hitch, but they need to offer a factory hitch. I actually need to tow something, not just use it for a bike rack. To tow there needs to be manufacturer's rating for it to be legal.

    Explain, please.

I self-installed a hitch with a 2000 Lb rating on my Prius Wagon. Perhaps I was courting disaster ?

It is not something you will get a ticket for. If you are in an accident it will be your fault in a civil court if you have exceeded the manufacturers recommendation for towing. You will be liable for any property damage. If someone is injured or killed, you will likely lose everything you own. Rare that an insurance company would help you out, since you were fully aware and did it anyway. Even if they did, it would not cover the full cost to you in the millions.

Edit: the new Prius does have towing capacity specified by Toyota. The above refers to vehicles with no manufacturer tow rating.
