What are these (velcro-y screw disc things)?

I found eight of these in the side well area of the trunk. They are plastic discs obviously meant to screw into something. They are sharp, too. I found them after one stabbed the crap out of my hand. The top sides are textured like the stiff half of Velcro.

    What are they?

I have an older Model S and I don't have this on my Model S, however, I used to have these on my BMW's.

On the BMW's they're used to secure the car mat in place.

If you pull up the carpets in your footwells, you'll see there are a few of these screwed into the footwell floor. The velcro-y surface sticks to complementary velcro-y circular patches on the bottom side of your carpets.

Not sure why there are loose ones floating around in your trunk...

Looks like they are possibly intended to attach the carpet to the body panels ... check your trunk area.

Thanks all. I've had the car only 3 weeks. I'm guessing as part of the CPO reconditioning they replaced or fixed some carpet and these were left in the car. I'll check the carpet throughout the car and make sure it's all secure. If any of you need a few for your car let me know!
