In Europe we got the mega trailer, so why not a mega truck? That's assuming it got a swappeble battery of 1 megawatt or more, just in case under the trailer. I'd like tot see a swappeble battery system for trucks and buses. Who can both share a standard battery, such a battery can also stabalise the grid.
People would make fun of you here if you call a 5-axle tractor-trailer a 'mega' anything... I have a 5-axle at home just for funsies. Different worlds.
The gigafactory produces about a gigawatt in batteries, more then a truck can contain. A megabattery is actually quite realistic for a big truck, that's why I thought of a megatrucks ! A megatrailer is suitable for such a truck.
Tesla doesn't make vehicles for US only. Semi- is a Latin prefix to a verb, noun, or adjective meaning "half". Also likely only tractor. Not the whole package. I vote for T. "Tesla Semi" "What model is that?" "Model Semi". "Tesla T" "What's that?" "Tesla Semi Truck, model T" "Oh". Alternative, BFT or BFS, as in Big.....
My first thought was the BFT (as already noted above). Then I read this thread, and realized that I am truly in the presence of greatness. Model T? Semi-ERECT? BEAST? Electruck (Poor Fred)? Y’all need to tweet Elon/Jerome. These names are awesome! It may take 20 years per their own plan, but I can’t wait for a fleet of these to replace the lung-killing diesels at the Ports of LA & Long Beach (the largest such combined port facility on the continent).
It's called Tesla Truck now, not the Semi. Tesla teases electric truck in new image, sends out invites to unveiling event
