There seems to be more to it than a lockdown indeed.

here’s how I handled the third mirror hole.

Not atypical in the absolute slightest. Lotus forums and Facebook groups are full of stories like this.

Products look great! The LEDs fail in his lotus lights. Trying to get them replaced is like pulling teeth. GRP will have tails soon.

Is that a bead of caulk between the mirror stalk and where it mounts (is that triangle what people call the "plinth")?

It is a rubber gasket we made.
I noticed that the OEM stems also let water in and that resulted in rusty bolts that I could hardly remove.

Didn’t have the roadster with me, but this was certainly bigger than the Y I was in while fumbling for my phone.

Come on....this is not a thread about things that are bigger than a roadster..... ;) ...or things bigger than the Y...
There is a whole forum for the Y, but I highly doubt they would be interested in "things I parked my Y next to" ...

I know Dutch people are the tallest in the world but these roadsters emphasize that as no other cars could

My first reaction when I saw this picture was, "Are those a bunch of 3/4 scale models?"
