Yes, he was banned shortly after his last post. For obvious reasons, I should think.

No, it's not that you're a bad business guy. It's that you believe what people say, that they're being honest, that their motives are pure/honest/sincere. That is an admirable view to have of mankind, but it's not how people sometimes work. Having a finely tuned BS meter can be helpful.

I continue to learn this lesson over and over again and it really saddens me that I have to. I try to assume positive intent. But that seems to be less and less these days.

Stay positive and think the best of people. That's a good way to live. It's too easy to become distrusting and cynical. Work a little on the BS meter, but don't change.
