    Everyone here is wrong. 30X is referring to the fur content. Silly people. Let’s hope they upgrade it to 100x. Nothing better than a soft feel of your Cybertruck.

    Agreed...let's all snuggle up in our CT orders and feast on seal blubber.

    "Everything's up to date in Kansas City,"… and I think, of all the strange responses on this thread, you may have gone about as fur as you could go. :)

    I am not sure if this helps or just makes things more confusing, but AK Steel markets a product call Nitronic 30 Stainless Steel.

    I hope the bumpers are made of the same material.

    nitronic is used for corrosion resistance, boat rigging and such. Iirc it’s a variant of 316.

    Te consensus is that the 30X is essentially very similar to a 301 alloy. Not as corrosion resistant as 316.

    @Fiddler :

    I notice that you disagree with my doubt or uncertainty with the cited article when I said: "It's unclear..."

    The opposite of unclear is clear.

    So after reading the cited article, you mean it is clear to you that you are fine with the article?

    The 30X refers to the SpaceX version of 301 SS not cold-rolled 30 times. The corrected article now says: "Update 12/2 5 a.m. Eastern time: An earlier version of this story described the Cybertruck steel as being cold-rolled 30 times. It has now been corrected."
