What is a ceramic coating and what is paint protection film, and why do you need it? My name is Gabe Fletcher and I operate Ceramic Pro Pottstown.

Today, we're going to talk about what a ceramic coating is, what paint protection film is, and why you need it for your new car. So you just got a new car, and you want to keep the paint looking good as long as possible. You want to try and keep it looking glossy. You want to make it easy to clean. You want to protect it. That's what we can help you with ceramic coatings and paint protection film. So let's say you just got a new car and you want to protect the paint from things like tree SAP, bird, bug, etching road, tar break, dust, iron deposits, all of those things that, over time, degrade the look of your paint, begin to stain and etch the clear coat ceramic pro ceramic coatings help keep your vehicle looking new for longer by reducing the rate at which your vehicle's paint oxidizes.

So you lock in that shine and luster, and it lasts for years versus just days or weeks with standard waxes and sealants. Ceramic coatings give you increased resistance from the marring process that can come from washing and drying. So ceramic coatings are going to increase the hardness of the paint on your vehicle.

Ceramic coatings are a product that we apply by hand across your vehicle in small sections. It bonds with the clear coat on the vehicle at a molecular level, filling in minor imperfections in the surface (this does not fill scratches but rather microscopic voids in the clear coat), creating a chemical bond that lasts for years instead of weeks, ceramic coatings are going to make your vehicle super easy to wash. It's going to cut your wash time down in half because the vehicle becomes super hydrophobic. So that means most contaminants and dirt and grime rinse off quickly with just a quick hit from a pressure washer. So before each vehicle is ceramic coated, it'll go through our prep process.

And that's both chemically and physically with iron remover, tar remover, clay bar, and then we'll perform paint correction. If you don't think your vehicle needs paint correction - that's OK because we can still put a ceramic coating on your car. (Paint correction is recommended) Here in the Northeast, your vehicle is subjected to some of the harshest conditions here in North America every winter. We're talking freezing temperatures, salt spray, enhanced rust, and oxidization rates. The Ceramic Pro Ceramic Coating is going to help to prevent and slow those things down.

Keep your vehicle looking new for longer with paint protection film. PPF will help protect your car from rock chips, scratches, abrasions, and chemical staining. It's also self-healing. So that means if you do get a minor abrasion in the top coat of the film, as soon as you pull it out into the sun, where you apply a little bit of heat.

If you are looking to prevent rock chips from damaging the look of your new vehicle, paint protection film is what you want. We install Ceramic Pro KAVACA Ceramic Coated Paint Protection Film. PPF will help protect the value of your vehicle long-term by applying paint protection film. As soon as you get it, it would be best if you were driving it to us to have that paint protection film installed as soon as you pick it up from the dealer. So that way, you can lock in that brand new look for years to come because when you go to sell or trade-in your vehicle and pull that film on, and the car still looks brand new, that means you're going to get top dollar for your investment. So we've applied our KAVACA Ceramic Coated Paint Protection Film.

The most common places to have Ceramic Pro KAVACA Paint Protection Film installed are on the hood, front bumper, mirror caps, rocker panels, and fenders. You can also install paint protection film across the entire vehicle.

We do our best to hide seams and edges, but sometimes it isn't in your best interest to stretch film in such a manner. We will usually extend the edges of the film in our computer software to make those seams disappear. We also do things like remove the fender cameras and remove the badges. We will then cut that film out on our Graphtec FC9000-160 Tint & PPF Plotter.

KAVACA Ceramic Coated Paint Protection Film has a 12 year warranty against fading, yellowing, and bubbling. KAVACA Ceramic Coated PPF is also self-healing, meaning that once exposed to heat, minor abrasions will disappear. The biggest and best feature of KAVACA is gloss and clarity. Let me explain - So, in most paint protection films, the adhesive layer adds what we call orange peel or texture. This texture diffuses the amount of light reflected through the clear coat. It makes the reflection appear fuzzy or grainy. It looks like the peel of an orange.

KAVACA ceramic coated paint protection film has no orange peel whatsoever because it is impregnated with nano-ceramic particles. So when we look at the reflection in the paint, we can still see all of that beautiful metallic and pearlescent color that shows through, ultimately making your vehicle look amazing. If you get into a minor accident, the risk of you being able to walk away without having to do any paint or bodywork is much higher.
