So here's the story, went for a test drive today and was expecting to only drive the Multi-Coat Red P85+ but someone took that out so the specialist suggested we take out the Metallic Blue P85, Then when we are done with that take out the P85+ loved both of them but couldn't justify the + . Worst Decision, Messed up my whole plan:confused:! Before I got there I knew what I wanted. A multi-Coat Red P85+ with everything. So far I have changed to just the P85, and the rest is where you guys come in. What should I choose? Thanks for your help in advance! P.S. The order you see them is the order of how much I am leaning towards them right now. A being the winner at the moment.

Option A: Tesla Model S P85 Metallic Blue With CF Spoiler and Silver 21"
Option B: Tesla Model S P85 Metallic Blue With CF Spoiler and Dark Grey 21"
Option C: Tesla Model S P85 Multi-Coat Red With CF Spoiler and Dark Grey 21"

Option C. I chose Black over Metallic Blue but like both. I've never been drawn to red cars, but the Multi-Coat Red with the dark 21s is spectacular. I'm extremely happy with my P85, though I've found the handling can get a little squirrly at highway speeds compared to my second car (M-B SL63, Porsche 997 before that) and previous car the Tesla replaced (2012 M-B CLS550). I haven't driven a P85+, but I'm guessing the sway bars and wider rear tires might help that a bit. It's the lane changes and quick moves at 70+ mph that don't inspire the confidence I've had with other cars, and guessing that might be why Tesla created the '+' package to remedy that.

You like black cars? If you do you have the double bonus of the blue looking black in certain light.

Dark Grey rims are gorgeous IMHO.

If I was buying one today I would get the '+'. Weren't available when mine was delivered.

I agree, probably if I do decide to choose the option with the 21" dark grey I will just go for it all and get the plus now that you and I've seen other forum members say the same thing.

I'm with you on going with a P85 after driving both the P85 and P85+. Out of the choices you have listed, I would go with A.

I too agonized over color choice; you can see my similar threads. I stressed over color to the point that I couldn't sleep. Finally, after driving my wife crazy over several days, she said: "Look, you can't make a wrong decision on color. You're going to love the car no matter what." She's right.

It sounds like you want option A. If deep down that's your favorite color combo, go with it. You can't make a mistake.

I went with C even though I had to wait an extra 5 months. Well worth it. Awesome car.

If you are opting for the 21" wheels, please make sure you are willing to replace your tires every 6,000-8,000 miles or so and have factored the annual expense.

As you might guess from my configuration, I prefer Option A. :)

I will note that the blue looks dirty reasonably quickly.
Personally, the multi-coat red is my least favorite color.

Haha  i can understand why, it's the one I am leaning towards the most as well. Congratulations on yours even though you have had it for a while. How many miles you up to?

This is what I hear, but can't I extend that dramatically if I do the swaps and rotations?

    Christian3,
like wrestled with the choice between red and blue. To me, the red is bright, sometimes even a bit orange, and is not the candy apple red typical of sports cars. I looked at the red and blue in bright light at the Natick Mall during my test drive (which I did after placing my order, with two days afterwards to finalize my color choices), and felt that the blue was a better fit for me. And that's the take home point -- only you can know what's right. I badly wanted others to advise me. In the end, I did benefit from hearing how others came to their choices.

I decided on blue with tan interior. I felt that this was an elegant and upscale look. After having my S85 for three weeks now, I have received a lot of compliments on the color. If I had by druthers, I would have the blue a bit lighter. It is very close to black in most lights. I spoke with a Tesla taff person in California, and he remarked that blue was uncommon in the West, and that black, white, red, and grey were what most West coasters chose. I have found, from my experience on this forum that blue is quite common on the East coast, and I see you are in Pennsylvania.

By the wy, the wheel size makes a marked difference in the appearance of the car, and the red with 21s looks much nicer than the red with 19s, in my opinion.

remember that in the end, you are inside the car as you experience it. The tan is very beautiful.
    Best,
    Jesse

They're all good choices. I think the Blue is beautiful, and elegant. While the Red is stunning. A head turner. Depends what look you prefer and how the colors make you feel. I truly appreciate the Red ( I think they really nailed it) but went with the elegance of the Blue. I'm "old" though.

Hmmm, try this one for size. You'll need to imagine 21" wheels, though.

On even numbered days, I like blue with silver and on odd numbered days, red with gray. It's a difficult choice.

    Thanks!

"dramatically"? I doubt it, no. Sticky rubber sticks to the road. The good news is that it means your tires don't skid easily. The bad news is that everywhere you go, you're leaving some of that rubber stuck to the road.
