What Should I Know Before Delivery?

So this Friday I accept Delivery of my 85D at the Fremont Factory. It's been a long wait from the moment I fell in love with the car two years ago until today when I could finally afford it.

So my question is to anyone that's accepted delivery at the factory or really anyone at all, how did delivery and the tour go and what should I be looking for during delivery. Any tips or advice. Not sure if I'll get much sleep the next few nights.

Just picked my 85d up today so it's fresh. It's very straight forward. If you have a tour (which I definiely recommend ) that takes about an hour or so. We met the delivery specialist (not the representative I had spoken to after ordering) about 10 minutes after the tour. They go over the order to make sure everything is in order. You will need your proof of insurance and driver's license. If there are any additional financial or trade in issues that will be addressed then. There are a couple of "paperwork" issues on an IPad and some car registration forms to sign. He then takes you out to a covered area where your car Awaits. The rep then spent about 45 minutes going over various aspects of the car. We had plenty of time to ask questions. Most of the time was spent with the charging equipment and computer monitor since the rest of the controls are fairly intuitive. They hand you the keys and a folder of papers you will want ( forms for tax rebates etc) and off you go.. Congrats.

Pro tip: When they pull the car out of the delivery area (they not you have to drive it out of the building for liability reasons), ask them to park it under cover so your brand new vehicle doesn't get pooped on by a seagull. :)

Bruce.

PS. Congratulations and have fun!

Thank you you for the great write up and enjoy your new 85D. I can't wait until Friday at 10am to finally meet mine. So your car was in a covered tent? They no longer do delivery inside in the 3 delivery bays? Honestly I'm not sure what I'm more excited for... The car or the tour?

so how is the 85D? Everything you thought and more?

I think it depends on the number of cars they're delivering that particular day. When I picked up mine, it was month end and quarter end and it was the third day they were delivering 200+ cars a day.

I did similar but even more painful. They delivered to my house, the next day I had it polished and coated and couldn't drive it for two days. It killed me! But it was well worth it.

So far. Believe it or not I drove my black 85D to a detail shop for film and CQuartz protection so have only driven it about 25 miles. Pick it up again on Saturday
