What should the charge rate be set at for HPWC

I have a dedicated 100 amp service and the HWPC can be set up to charge at up to 80 amps.
I know the M3 won't handle the higher amps, but will it automatically adjust to the lower rate?
I'd like to have it set at the higher rate should I buy a model S in the future.

Speaking only in regards to the Model S. The max charge is 48amps (standard single charge unit). That means a max of 60 amps is needed to the HWPC.

If you have it on a dedicated 100amp circuit, then set it to 80 amps. The car will only take what it can handle.
An older model S with dual chargers can take the full 80. A current gen mode S can take either 48 or 72 depending on config.

If you have the HPWC on a 100 amp breaker with proper wiring, then the interior switch settings inside the HPWC should be set for 100 amp breaker / 80 amp charging.

No adjustments in the car are necessary -- all Telsa models will charge appropriately.

Actually, you can use it on all EVs if you use this! Those EV onboard charger can set the max current.
