What Tesla replace for mcu2 upgrade?

Hi Mates,

I got MS 75D EAP AP2

Upgraded to mcu2 yesterday.

But i am very confused about the upgrade, Tesla Park Royal said that they replaced main MCU unit and full self driving computer(HW3)only but not instrument cluster screen behind wheel.

Is it TRUE? They dont need to replace instrument cluster screen???

Whoever got this MCU2 upgrade then pls advise me.

Same S75D AP2.0 with EAP. They replaced the following:

1. Brand new instrument cluster
2. Brand new MCU including associated center screen and harness
3. Full Self Driving Computer installed

No camera or external vehicle hardware was changed or replaced. Existing AP2.0 suite works sufficiently despite the differences in camera color profiles.

Hi Mates, When did you upgrade it? Is there any different rules on different countries for Mcu upgrade?

You should ask them again, MCU2 requires to change IC as well as they are running on the same computer. MCU1 setup has individual ones, hence user needs to boot them separately.

You can check if the IC has been changed ( = MCU2 upgrade).
When the car is waking up, the MCU (17 " screen) starts first while the IC is still dark. After a few seconds the IC is also starting. This means you have MCU2.

This does not apply as I have MCU1 and it’s almost always take more time for the IC to wake up. This delay came with an upgrade last autumn.

You can tell by doing a 2 scroll wheel reboot. With MCU2 when you do the 2 scroll wheel reboot both screens will reboot. With MCU1 you used the top buttons to reboot the instrument cluster.
