What would the insurance premium be for self drive?

just throwing it out there, if having your 16 year old on your policy can potentially double your insurance premium, what would the impact be for the auto driving?

Since you are giving control of your 100k car to a series of codes that don't feel pain, or afraid to be grounded.Would your insurance be higher just because you have auto drive capacity, the insurance company don't have data to determine the risk probability and don't know when you are turning it on?

I believe that Elon has talked about presenting safety data to insurance companies on behalf of all Tesla owners. The objective would be to demonstrate that different versions of AP reduce the risk and cost of damage/injury/death and then have that savings passed on to owners.

This is probably in the works because a substantial amount of data is going to be necessary to get approval for full autonomy on any sort of significant scale.

I think the bigger issue is going to be Tesla's own liability. If the car is making life/death decisions with no input from you, will Tesla be on the hook if it makes choice A over choice B. The old "run over the old lady or into a crowd of schoolchildren" choice. That may be something that is dealt with legislatively, although some state legislatures haven't exactly demonstrated their love for Tesla.
