I think some people who are new to EV’s are checkpointing some of their own assumptions & conclusions, Which is a good thing. Doing due diligence does not imply being insecure.
But ultimately the main reason is that most people writing these posts are not driving their car yet!
Once the deliveries start in larger numbers, The forum dynamics change.

Oh no, don't encourage them. I can see them now, thinking "What if I were to plot Model 3 cancellation time vs. Model Y estimated release date. I might be able to decide what color to get!"

Simple, Tesla employees may be monitoring the forum. They may not heed any of the suggestions or warnings but at least we tried to bring them up.

Gives them the impression that not everyone here has been convinced and converted to a loyal fan.

I dunno there's nothing to learn. It's not like there's anything else like a Model 3. If you have to come to a forum to ask others why they're cancelling in order to decide whether to get one or not, you have more serious problems. It may also mean you're considering a Bolt - which then indicates medical disorder.
