when Tesla says "all orders place in November will be delivered in 2019", I believe them, but...

I ordered a Performance, white-white, FSD on 10/3/19. Have not heard a peep. Was told 2-4 weeks when I ordered. Right ...

I ordered Sept 30th and told less than two weeks, I haven't heard anything yet. Its good to be optimistic (I once was too, I have been carless for 6 weeks), but at this point I don't trust their delivery timelines this quarter and still hoping they can deliver mine before the end of the year.

why did you change the name of this thread from 'My worst fears"

a little over dramatic maybe..

Well yes. But then, why be dull?

It goes like this: Say something provocative in a high-intensity forum, and then sit back and watch the results.

JUST LIKE YOU! :p

----

Actually, none of that is true, except for the "just like you" part. You can't change anything in the opening post once someone has responded. I quickly saw that my thread title did not represent my point, but by that time it was too late. So I "reported" my own post and asked the admin to delete it. But to his/her credit, they instead changed the title and nailed it! Except, I would have capitalized the first letter. :)

So, under the subtitle "more outrageous theories":

I don't know if everyone here realizes it, but Elon is a bit of a "drama king". He likes to shock us! :D. Nothing wrong there, and as I said, why be dull?

How shocking would it be if Tesla is deliberately manipulating delivery flow to -maximize- December deliveries? With most foreign orders being delivered in the last month of any quarter, it's naturally weighted that way. So, delay (as space allows) domestic deliveries and then report eye-popping results for December. You can see the headlines "Tesla records record profit, record production output, and delivers an eye popping 1.2 gabillion cars in December. Elon shocks us again!"

Of course, this presents a myriad of logistic issues. The store manager of my local showroom told me "We all expect to age a year or two in December". But it's a challenge, and I think Elon loves challenges. To that end, they are changing their SOP for deliveries this quarter by opening up lower volume delivery centers at service centers and using Sales Associates as Delivery Experience Specialists. Your SA will meet you at the SC for delivery.

Increased volume necessitates increased capacity.

Remember, I did say "outrageous". But I don't think it's outrageously outrageous.
