When will 75D's start production

If true, then my theory is they are pulling in according to original confirmation date in general, and VIN is fairly meaningless at the moment. I am sure end of quarter logistical games will still be played, but it seems order date trumps vehicle config/price going forward (assume this is how it is for MS?). Still no way to know when 5 seaters will go, but good news for them is that when ready, they should slip right in front of the line of new orders, if this theory is correct, of course.
I hope you are right, ordered 6/14 configured 1/16.

All, I have some good news to share. My DS told me early last week that "conservatively" I should expect my car late July/early August, possibly a bit earlier but assume these dates (I'm in the east coast keep in mind). He called me today about some unrelated question, and I asked about if he had any updates on production. He said nearly word for word the following:

"They are actually ahead of schedule by about a week producing the cars. I expect your car by early July, conservatively mid July now. There's a chance we might get it in the last few days of June but I'm not sure. Your car should enter production in 2-3 weeks."

2-3 weeks till production starts seems impossible to deliver by late June. However someone else on the forums with a VIN within 80 of mine said they were given a specific date of June 20th a week ago as their start date for production. Assuming mine was the same date and has since been pushed up a week to the 13th, the end of June IS possible even to the east coast, however I'm not holding my breath.

I wonder what this means for us with 75's and no vin yet.

Awesome news, I am trying to contact my DS to get an update, hopefully we can get the car by early July.

For what it's worth, similar story here for a Boston delivery of a 75D. Talked to my DS and he mentioned that the expected delivery date for me is now mid-July (vs. an estimate of "late July" a couple weeks ago).

@Oloron if your delivery specialist is R.M. than I think we have heard the same info. I would assume that we're on the same truck because our VINs are less than 20 apart, so if it helps with the excitement there is a slim chance for late June for us both :)

Different specialist actually - though I had RM for a bit and then got reassigned for some reason. I've liked both of my guys so far though. Nice to be getting roughly the same info.

The note in the June Deliveries thread from a recent Boston delivery that said recent deliveries got cars via truck does increase the (slim) odds of a June delivery. IIRC, a typical coast to coast trucking time is about 6 days. Add ~7 days for production time and ~2-3 days on both sides for QA and prep. That means production would need to start early next week to squeak in a June delivery.

I'll just be thrilled if we can get them before the first week or so of July. (Have a short trip around the 15th that would be great to try out the X.)

Hi, When was your confirmation date. I have confirmed mine on March 13, no VIN yet.
Assuming 6/7 seat 75D, did you get a call from Tesla last month and accept the SAS air suspension package upgrade for $1250? If not, they say you have to wait a month or 2 more, or so it was said by the Tesla salesman. If not, there are a few 75D folks, some confirming even before you and I (same day by the way, see my sig below) that have not received a VIN yet, very strange as to why.

I got a call from my DS this afternoon. He tells me my 75D entered production today. I reserved Nov 2012, ordered 12/1, and upgraded to SAS on 5/9. My VIN is 8,6XX. I am located in Denver. I was told to expect a late June to early July delivery.

My DS shared the "great news" today: my X75D VIN 61xx (90d downgrade, config in signature) is slotted for production! Awesome update or lack thereof!

Congrats! This makes yours one of the first 75D's to be produced!

Out of curiosity, what is your config?
