Suppose that, following Navigate on Autopilot, Tesla eventually rolls out similar features for other driving environments, like city streets. Monitoring is required, and some level of intervention is required. Maybe confirmation will be required for some actions, such as making a left turn at an intersection. Assuming this happens, at what point will Tesla cover all driving environments? That means cities, suburbs, undivided highways, country roads — everywhere.
There may be special circumstances like complicated construction zones or just when the system is so confused that it disengages itself and forces the driver to take control. Perhaps toll booths, drive thrus, and other tricky situations will require full human control. But for 99% of the time, the car will function like Navigate on Autopilot.
When do you think this will happen?
