Where are the brake regerators

    waiting on my model s to be delivered via home delivery in 14 days! I stopped by the service center to just be close to new Tesla’s today. Tons more 3’s and a few more s’s than usual and a huge amount of trade ins on the lot now.

    Looking closely at the recently delivered s’s I don’t see any brake regenerator calipers on the rear wheels. There was an older s sitting on the lot with them so I know what they look like. None of the newer Model s’s have them visible (75 or 100s) Is that a new design?

    I suspect you mean parking brake calipers.

    If newer S's don't have them, that is likely an updated design similar to the 3....

    A common misconception is that the parking brake calipers are a "regen brake". This is not true the Regen is done by the same motor that accelerates the vehicle and is not visible at the wheel or caliper.
