Where did JB Straubel say battery does not condition when unplugged?

For some reason I can't find a link to JB Straubel saying the S battery pack does not draw energy when parked and unplugged to temperature regulate the pack, and that the vampire drain was not battery related. Can anyone help me out?

I don't remember Straubel commenting (on Model S or Roadster), but I did recall this (from before I joined TMC):

Tesla Roadster Battery Care
Dan Myggen said:
Just remember that the car does benefit from being allowed to sit fully charged in Standard mode, and should be allowed to do so frequently, especially if being used on a daily basis. Leaving the car plugged in in Standard mode after it is done charging will initiate this balancing program automatically. This doesn’t take much time, 30 minutes or so should do. It may take several of these balancing cycles to bring the car back to a balanced state if it has become imbalanced, which is something that a lack of regular Standard mode top ups and subsequent balancing cycles can induce.

I'm pretty sure he did say it, and since the older chemistry in the Roadster doesn't appear to do so I'd think the S would not as well. The S is supposed to be able to be left unplugged for a year or so, I don't think the pack would last if it were using energy to heat and/or cool itself.
Roadster:
If you leave it outside in -30C without plugging in then the battery will get cold. It won't use up any of your battery keeping it warm.

I've cold-soaked my Roadster at -27C, and it did not draw any energy to warm the pack.

He never said it,....
I guess it wasn't JB, but I did find the statement, apparently by Walter Franck:

The loss of range when the car is off has absolutely nothing to do with energy needed to heat, cool or otherwise do anything to the battery pack. The battery pack simply doesn't consume energy when the car is off nor do the systems that manage it. All of the "sleep" energy loss is going to onboard computer systems and providing the useful benefit of keeping them ready to start-up at a moment’s notice when the driver returns. As noted above this energy consumption will be almost completely eliminated over the next 2-6 months.
