There must be some good parts available.
I dont think too many would be written off. But would be interesting to see one go through auction
Lean it against your house and you’ve got one helluva powerwall.
There is a Model S P90D at pickles auctions now.
2015 TESLA Model S - Pickles
Thanks Meloccom. Thats the sort of wreck Id like.
A couple more on Pickles.
a 2014 S repairable writeoff
2014 TESLA Model S - Pickles
and a 2017 X statutory writeoff
2017 TESLA Model X - Pickles
Is there any way of telling (without viewing in person) what the specs are (and hence what the original market value was? )
The model number is the main indicator of spec and price.
In rough ascending price order: 40, 60, 75, 85, 75D, 85D, P85, 90D, 100D, P85D, P90D, P100D
The number is roughly the battery pack size in kWh, which is important if you're buying it for battery.
Thanks. Its unfortunate you can't tell the model number on the last 2 write-offs in Melbourne.
Something is fishy about this being a stat write-off - 2017 TESLA Model X - Pickles
There is hardly any damage apparent. Airbags not deployed and doesn't look that bad. Must be something not visible, especially since this is deemed a repairable write-off - 2014 TESLA Model S - Pickles
Report says “Incident Type: Impact, Damaged Entire Vehicle”. Looking at the damage maybe it went over a gutter and scraped everything underneath. A little strange that the battery can’t be replaced if it was damaged but possibly Tesla advised they would not support it due to the damage.
Maybe Rich Rebuild could advise if anyone wants to repair and use as a farm vehicle?
Can someone keep a eye one what price the 2015 goes for today. I will try and post if I find out. Intrested in maybe s cheap tesla
You realise that it’s a Statutory Write Off so can’t be re-registered in Australia.
Written off vehicles
It went for 35k
Yea just looking.
Did tesla stop pickles selling Tesla's. They have all disappeared from there web site.
doing some more reading, submerged vehicles are written off - my guess now is that this was driven into water.
Looks like a few of the Tesla write offs go to New Zealand.
Kiwi taking Tesla to task over lack of support
i think tesla have put steps in place to stop damaged teslas going to auction in australia
That's all well and good ensuring that stat writeoffs dont make their way back on the road.
But what about those of us that are interested in purchasing writeoffs for the parts (batteries, motors etc)?
