Which is closest to where you live

Just wanted to get some numbers on roughly where each Tesla owner lives. It might explain where Tesla puts their Superchargers

They limit this to 15 options max, so sorry if your area is not listed clearly enough. Please leave a comment if you feel we need to break down an area further. That can be the next poll.

Yes.. It's a shame so many people decided to look at the thread but didn't want to spend an extra mouse click to vote.

It would have been very useful information for us to use to ask Tesla or the government to install chargers in certain areas. But based on the current results, the saturation of SC on HK island is totally justified.
A SC in Clear water bay or Sai Kung would seem worthwhile too. Maybe Clear water bay is more likely since it isn't as remote.

HK is too small a place to need SC in remote fringes. Just in the popular areas. You can easily charge your car fully at any SC, drive to any fringe area of HK and then drive back.

Not sure how many Tesla owners in Hong Kong active on this forum. It has certainly died down since the excitement of deliveries back last summer.

For example, the Model S delivery tracking thread only recorded details for about 50 owners. The Model X delivery tracking thread has 9.

In that context 26 responses is not bad. But in the context of 1,000+ Model S owners in Hong Kong it is pretty poor.

The FB group, ever since it was up, has been very active. It has 137 members and I typically see around 10 or so posts/comments/like etc. These days mobile is king the lack of a mobile version of TMC is a problem.

Cars are not stationary objects like houses.

It doesn't only make sense to put superchargers where people live, but also where they work. And where they drive.

Superchargers are intended for long range trips, rather than home charging. Because of difficulties with installing your own charger in places like Hong Kong and London, Tesla Motors decided to use them to offer owners to charge far daily use, rather than longer trips.

That's fine for all the superchargers on HK Island, but for all those of us living outside of HK island, it's a pain to have to battle both rush hour traffic as well as tolls and parking obstacles - just to charge.

Science Park finally got superchargers - which is really nice. Lantau Island doesn't have any at all, despite being home of Hong Kongs only international airport. I know TM wants a supercharger there, but they cannot just place one wherever they want. I am surprised that the airport and certain airlines based there, hasn't stretched out their hand out already and offered this facility. It would be a great "green washing manoeuvre". The airport only has a few slow chargers, while it would be obvious that especially the short term parking would be a natural place to have superchargers installed. Even if it meant there was a fee for parking there.

There are several other threads here about superchargers, and mainly most people are familiar with the limitations of legal issues, backbone power supply issues, plain old lack of allocated space and more.

It is not because of lack of will from TM to install superchargers, but rather all the external factors, outside of TMs control. It would have been really appreciated if the HKSAR government would step up and take responsible steps to ensure the progression of the charging infrastructure - including superchargers.

In charged.hk - this is one of our main fights, once we get properly up and going. The best thing YOU can do is to enlist in charged.hk as a member - RIGHT now. You don't even have to pay, as memberships start from 0 HKD.

Hello Mark, perhaps, shall we have another vote about "where is your office?" Then we will have information of both home and office.
