Well, there isn't a release schedule that I'm aware of...at least, not one that results in any sort of regular/reliable releases to the general public. Updates come out when they are ready.

except that they have a history of releasing an update every 4 weeks?
Yeah they probably try, but as you can see it doesn't always happen. My update history since December 2016 averages 21 days between new version installs, but that's including minor updates too. In that time, there were 12 updates that were greater than 30 days apart, and a couple as much as 60.

Maybe they'll just get rid of the map so we can have an even bigger area for showing things I can look out the window and see.
If they don’t improve the UI of the M3, I think they’ll lose the confidence of a good chunk of their customers
Doubtful. The people upset about it on this forum are a small vocal minority and Tesla will still sell a TON of cars.
