I am definitely thinking of purchasing a Model S and take advantage of the tax credit while I can. I then realized If I can find a demo car for a relatively cheaper price and take advantage of the tax credit at the same time that would be great. Does anyone have any recommendations or websites where to find such DEMO Tesla? I went to a dealership which was Tesla based here in Tyson Corner Va and the salesmen kept telling me sorry though these are demo cars they are not for sale and we will happily build you a car to the specific demo specs. I read some material online where some salesmen are selling the demo cars just unsure how to go finding them if that is the case.
EV-CPO.com or Teslainventory.com will have everything publicly available. There are some "showroom deals" that only people at the store have access to, however. Inventory and showroom cars have been sold out for months.
The "demo" cars you speak of are called inventory cars. Historically Tesla allowed you to find these on their website here: Inventory | Tesla ...but there aren't any current inventory cars on their website and few nationwide have been found recently. If you go into a showroom and ask specifically for them to look for an inventory car in their system, they can look to see if they have any but there seems to be a shortage currently. If you get a good ordering specialist, they can search and email you any results as soon as they pop up as any available inventory cars are likely to be sold, fast.
Also don't forget cars.com and eBay. They both offer a larger inventory of used Teslas for sale and if you buy from a private party, you can buy with an extended warranty.
Thank you Gentlemen for the information. I will definitely ask next time about the showroom deals, and will continue to look around and hopefully stumble across something.
