Where to mount an E-ZPass in a Model Y

Does anyone have any experience with this? On my previous car, I had it mounted behind the mirror, but that's not going to work for the Model Y because the cameras are there. Also, the instructions say it doesn't work with a non-metallic roof.

automated toll systems) inside Model Y, place the
transponder on the right side of the rear view mirror as
shown. This ensures best results and minimizes any
obstruction to your driving view.
NOTE: You can also attach a weather-proof transponder
to the front license plate.​

I used a leather case to hide it. And used plasti dip on the back of the ezpass. It is barely noticeable from outside.

Wow that looks nice. see Tesla came out and painted your wall. They did a nice job painting mine

I painted the back of mine flat black to make it blend in through the windshield. Mine is a Flex, so I need access to the HOV switch.

I was thinking of just using a black permanent marker to darken the outside.

I tried this on a recent trip and it failed to register at a couple toll booths.

I just throw mines up on the dash before I hit the toll. Works every time. Never got a ticket or request for payment.

This area did NOT work for me at several toll booths in NY (along 90).

I read in another thread (perhaps for the M3) someone recommended putting it in the frunk. I have no experience and would like to know the viability of that location as well.

Mounted mine high on the windshield to the right of the mirror and have had no difficulty.

Me too. Back of the screen. Works every time so far.

I don't know about your state but in California Fastrak has trialled Stickers in Orange County. Since it works in whole California, I ordered the sticker and tested that and it works pretty cool. very small footprint and actually makes your car look high-tech!
