My crucial ssd 500g is giving up the ghost i think since last update , which ones are we using ? In a model 3 2019 , getting fustrated with this now this is the second unit

SLC is pretty crazy overkill for dashcam, if you run the actual math on how little data it really writes vs expected lifecycle of say much cheaper TLC flash.

Which folks have, many times, on here. In typical use a much cheaper drive should still be good for like 5-10 years on average. Depending if you're using it 24/7/365 or only like 8-10 hours a day at work.

Right, but SLC just straight up WON'T fail, and it's like 30 bucks for a 64GB SLC drive. One and done.

MLC is available too if you really want the extra capacity. Same price, double the capacity, 1/10th the life (but still should be in excess of the car's life.)
