With another kid on the way and not wanting to get in line for a Model X, I ordered a Whispbar roof rack and cargo box for my Model S to store strollers/scooters/junk x 2.
Just arrived earlier this week and took me about an hour to install; though I think it would now only take me 20minutes if I had to do it over again. Advice is to do it with 2 people; the cargo box is pretty big to lift up onto the roof by one person (I used the shipping packaging bubble wraps to protect the car while I just pushed the box up onto the roof). Would have wanted it in black but the online retailers were out or wanted almost double the price of the silver. Going to get it wrapped in carbon fiber look later as the silver looks a bit out of place against the white body of the car.
I found the lock on the box a bit frustrating to close; opening is fine but you need to align the latches well or the key won't turn when you try to lock it. And the OEM key is a piece of junk that cuts your fingers if you use too much force, will get a local key maker to make a nicer one later.
Drove on my commuting route so far and increased the power consumption by about 4%. It's pretty much silent when going under 70kph.
One issue is that it interferes with the daylight sensor for the automatic headlights; it's been turning on my headlights all the time even in bright sunshine as the cargo box extends over the front windshield a bit.
