I'm planning on getting a service appointment scheduled for the panel misalignment that I have. Do you guys think its a good idea to even include the bumper? I've heard its a hit/miss. Don't want to worsen my situation.

Why not go for it, the worse they can say is no. Typically this issue is only solved with a respray of the bumper, cant be worse than what you have now.

I'd heard they would look at replacing the bumper vs repainting. I also heard the bumpers come in pre-painted which I think is the real root of the issue here.

I suppose a replacement is also a valid option but hopefully they make sure they actually match

Add me to the list of mismatched bumpers. 418XX. 8/25 build date. It looked perfectly fine in the direct sunlight when I picked it up otherwise I would've rejected it right away.

This really shows how it depends on the light though - to me your trunk and the bumper look the same colour in both pics. Either they're both off or it's just that they both share the same colour at that angle. How does the bumper look if you take a pic from the side of the vehicle looking back at 45 degrees?

Gosh I really hope mine matches. I pick mine up this weekend and I will have to reject delivery for this issue and then end up at the back of the now 10-14 week line

Its the "multi" coat white, meaning RAINBOW of whites. You have eggshell white, swiss coffee, and simply white.

Good to know its not just Tesla. I did see a brand new MDX just like that. Exact same.

the rep said they are trying to only deliver white MYs on a sunny day.

I counted 7 other White MYs. All with paint mismatch.

so basically if you are getting a white MY at Kansas City delivery center it has mismatched paint

Man I should have just gotten blue or grey.... but I really like the white

I'm sure I'm not the only one who switched from white to another color. It's just unbelievable that a tech based company like Tesla can't get something as simple as matching the bumper cover paint to the door paint right... they can make a battery that lasts a million miles, but don't expect matching body panels if you order white

Same. I told my wife we should get blue. Nope. She wants black. I mean it looks great with the induction wheels.

If a pro body shop repaints it, it will look much better. I had it done after a small fender bender and the yellowish bumper is gone.
