Hi All, I'm a new to this forum, and excited to be here. I have owned my Tesla Model X since September 2017, and it's been great. However, my white seats are getting damaged from the seatbelts. Tesla is looking into this, but I wanted to know if anyone else is experiencing the same thing. I have a 6-seater Model X and all four rear seats have red stains where the seat belts touch the seats. It's on the leather and plastic material where the seat belt rubs against it. The two front seats don't have any stains considering the seat belts don't physically touch the seats. Anyone else? Appreciate any feedback.
Just checked my April 2017 MX and I don’t have any discoloration under the seat belts in the second or third rows like your pictures indicate. Could it be rubbing off from a red coat or jacket one of your rear passengers is wearing? Coat to belt to seat?
That's interesting to hear about your Tesla. I been asked that before about "red clothing", I just don't know how that would be possible. All four rear seats with the exact same marks? I don't carry passengers that often for that to happen. Or had the same person sit in every seat. I also don't think it's possible because the seats aren't stained from any red clothing otherwise - Just from the seatbelt. Lastly... where the seat belt is connected in the lap of the seat as in the photos... that section of the seat belt never touches clothing and it's also red. It's odd!!
What have you tried to clean this? I have been using isopropyl alcohol with an rag or a paper towel to wipe off stains in my headliner and it seems to work pretty well.
A service advisor looked me right in the eye and said it cannot be a dye transfer because we do not believe it is dye transfer.
Normal soap and water at a hand car wash. They tried to get it out too. I Don't want try anything that may damage the seats more.
