I was rather amused when I heard him make this statement. I think it must have been due to English being his second language or some such. He must have meant "powerful" generator. Any generator a fraction of the size of it's driving ICE can produce enough power to stall the ICE. I am also somewhat confused by this stealth mode versus performance mode thing. It would seem that the battery chemistries appropriate for a PHEV (adequate cycle life) would also have more then adequate power density for max performance when in a pack large enough for 50 mile electric range.
As with Whitestar it seems we will just have to wait and see what they have actually designed and engineered.
Isn't that the truth. Also given the example of the Roadster, we may just see some dramatic changes between first information and final delivery.
