Tesla Motors Selects BorgWarner for Production of New Gearbox for Tesla Roadster

The new powertrain achieves an EPA combined range of 244 miles on a single charge, up from Tesla’s previously announced EPA range of 221 miles.

Is the dyno set right this time??? (Just checking)

10% improvement in range to go along with the 33% increase in torque.

Although probably not at the same time

    Nice.

Definately good, and this is especially useful for the Model S, where every mile they can claw out of the battery will help. At least for the cheap model I'm looking for. :)

Kudos to The team at Tesla, I know they had two versions of the transmission they were testing and this one is surely a winner.

    Again. great work guys!

Two newspaper articles published today are still mentioning 220 Miles per charge.

Didn't they get the memo? I am particularly surprised by AutoBlog Green:

Is the company backing off on its 244 claim, or are just many writers not doing a very good job of researching? It has been over a month now since those numbers were revised upwards, you would think daily periodicals would have noticed by now.

I wonder if this is the new company party line? The web site says differently right now.
