Why would I want to see my ear?Why cant they make the animation a
ear only when AP is engaged?
It's needed for the 'Autosteer on City Streets' function of FSD apparently.
Same reason why you’d want to see the car from different angles? Why would I want to see my ear?
I'd happily take that UI over the V11 trash. The animation is smaller in V11 than in V10.
Just for fun, here is a screenshot of the UI back in 2018 with the navigation directions all the way on the right:

The worst thing about not being able to flip it? They already have the software, they use it in the UK and other countries that have right hand drive cars... they just don't allow it to be user selectable.I'm in this group -- I'd like to have the option.
As for why the default view, it is designed for FSD
Any news on the flip/flop of screen ? In the Uk your hand blocks the blind spot camera view when indicating to swap lanesI'm in this group -- I'd like to have the option.

It does in the US, as well. Only it is the right hand that blocks it instead of the left. That's my beef. It makes the camera next to useless.Any news on the flip/flop of screen ? In the Uk your hand blocks the blind spot camera view when indicating to swap lanes
Doesn't your car show the 'next step' in the navigation at the top of the nav pane? It should.I would definitely like more of the map view as well during navigation, as I also like to have a visual backup to the voice prompt. Not sure if it is because my car is new or what, but the voice prompt navigation would tell me to take a left or right extremely late, almost to the point where I am already at the intersection. Hope this improves if nothing else...
It does, but being new to Tesla it takes me a little longer to catch what I need to see, which also means I am taking my eyes off the road longer. When the voice prompt gives me a heads up to an oncoming turn it is not a big deal, like letting me know a turn will be in 500 feet for example, but I've experienced a few times when it didn't and caught me off guard.Doesn't your car show the 'next step' in the navigation at the top of the nav pane? The extra screen directly in front of the driver behind the steering wheel, which is absent in the 3 and Y.I'm not very familiar with the S or X. What is this $100 dash cluster?
I see. And this screen would cost $100 to install? The extra screen directly in front of the driver behind the steering wheel, which is absent in the 3 and Y.
No, that's just a WAG that someone made. You can't install it in the 3 or Y. There are, however, small screens available that you can get - they are usually called 'HUD's' although they really aren't as they don't project anything on to the windshield. Here is an example -I see. And this screen would cost $100 to install?
Doesn't look like a $100 piece of equipment to me hahaNo, that's just a WAG that someone made. You can't install it in the 3 or Y. Tesla HUD - Model 3 Head Up Display - Speedometer Gauge Cluster Screen Display Fit for Tesla Model Y Model 3
Tesla HUD LCD display is special OEM design for Tesla Model 3 2017-2021,Model Y 2020 2021. Multiple performance display of original car agreement, Auto sync center console touch screen, Display:MPH, Power display, Gear display, Turning light display, Driving mode, LED screen, Multiple modes.asiwo.com
Most of them are also touch screen which makes zero sense since you'd have to reach around or through the steering wheel to get to it. Yet, you have to pay for that technology.
If it was $100 you'd be advised to stay away from it. There are many versions of these screens available and most are north of $300 not including installation. The newest 9" screen from Hansshow seems to be the best right now but even that is not as user-friendly as it can be, even though most if not all functions can be operated via the scroll wheels on the steering wheel which negates the need for touch screen. I'd settle for Tesla just making the map portion of the screen larger.Doesn't look like a $100 piece of equipment to me haha
