Why do I still have free SuperCharging? (So Cal)

Hi Everyone,

SoCal resident here. Our Model 3 is 1 year old and did not come with free supercharging. When the big fires hit SoCal in November, Tesla kindly offered free supercharging as a gesture to those impacted (we were not impacted, but we still received free SuperCharging). It helped us save a few bucks when we drove to Northern California over Thanksgiving.

But now we're at the end of the year, and it's still free. I checked my account today, and it showed it. I haven't supercharged since Thanksgiving (it's not super convenient), but I was wondering if anyone else in SoCal still has this?

Any idea when they're going to switch it back?

Thanks

It’ll go away. Usually lasts at least a few weeks (based on the hurricane times uncorking/free supercharging).

I also received my Model 3 one year ago and have never received free supercharging - other than the free location at San Diego/Qualcomm where it is free for everyone.

At what locations in SoCal were you receiving free supercharging, or were you just referring to the locations in NorCal?

When I log into My Tesla account, I see my Model 3...click Manage....then click See Details. In the upper right, it has "Supercharging Status" and under it, it says "Free Unlimited Supercharging."

Over Thanksgiving, we stopped at Kettleman City, Gustine, Rocklin, and Bakersfield Superchargers...not charged a fee at any. Just for laughs, I went to the Manhattan Beach supercharger yesterday....and was not charged a fee.

So....it looks like I get all for free....strange.

I certainly would not ask tesla, thats for sure, as they might "correct the mistake". Especially if you dont primarily use superchargers as your main charging, I would just roll with it.

Just checked mine, it says the same thing. I haven’t used any supercharging in a while, so didn’t notice they hadn’t turned it off after the fires.
