Why doesn't the M3 have WiFi and do M3 owners have to pay for OTA update data usage?

1) Why doesn't the M3 have WIFI ability yet? What are the reasons it has not been enabled yet?

2) Do Model 3 owners have to pay for data usage for OTA updates?

1) Because the software team had more important things to work on

2) Currently data is free. Eventually it might not be- but that was also supposed to be the case for the S and they still haven't gotten around to charging for it. Most likely since SpaceX is working on its own satellite internet service that will eventually supply data free (or cheap) to future tesla owners
