Why get a Powerwall?

My whole reason to get solar power is the backup. The last two hurricanes (Florida)
left us sweltering for days. Often, after a hurricane leaves, the skis are cloudless and
temps are high. Economics wise my monthly bill is only $100 (small house) so payback
will take forever but to have a cold fridge, ceiling fans & maybe AC would be a dream!

Reasons:
1) Backup in general with the threat from PG&E to black us out for up to multiple days to prevent fires.
2) Backup during the day so that the solar can run the house and charge back up the battery. Without the battery, solar is off during outages.
3) Load-shifting from peak Time of Use (TOU) rates to shoulders (and off-peak on the weekend). This alone won't pay for it, but it is nice that we no longer have to think about when to use electricity (other than charging the car over night).

And some incidentals:
4) Disaster preparedness
5) Feel good for doing the right thing:)
