Why is GPS Lady Yelling at Me?

Anyone have an issue with the GPS voice prompt volume?

Mine seems to have a mind of its own. No matter where I set the level, it seems to increase to an annoying level later on.

This has been going on maybe within the past year. Mine’s a 2018 LR RWD.

Starting to sound like the “other” lady in the car.

Adjust the volume with the left thumbwheel while she's talking.

If that doesn't work, power cycle the car (manual p. 52).

for the "other" loud lady I use earlpugs, or a good set of noise-cancellation headphones.

My GPS always seems to start on mute which is fine if I'm going somewhere I know and just need an ETA but when Im going somewhere new I always have to go into settings and unmute it. Drives me nuts.

This happens to me from time to time.
What is happening (in my case) is that I am adjusting the volume on the sound system when a navigation event pops off. The female voice-over provides the navigation instructions while I am spinning the volume control. While I think that I am still turning the radio volume up/down, I am actually adjusting the volume for the navigation voice-over. There are separate volume control levels for the stereo, navigation, and phone.

BTW I call her Lady Elon, since there is no other name given.

I call the car "Nick" and the GPS lady, "Nicole."

I call the GPS voice in my Prius C "Veera", as it's reminiscent of how I have to drive in order to follow their directions.
