Hi all,
I ordered a P90D on 2/1 and got the long awaited vehicle started production email on 3/2. Anxiously refreshing the page all weekend seeing the estimated delivery date shifting twice to land on March 9th - Match 16th, I woke up this morning to "Your Tesla has been built and is in transit from the factory." I live in Roseville, CA (taking delivery at the Rocklin, CA Show Room) and know the transport from Fremont, CA to Rocklin only takes about 2-3 hours with no stops. There are 2-3 stores along the way depending on the route so I figured the DS would call me to let me know the vehicle arrived to the store to establish next steps.
After not hearing from him around 3PM and eager to finalize my financing so a check could be overnighted to Tesla from Alliant (in Chicago, IL) I tried calling him to get my final MVPA (Motor Vehicle Purchase Agreement) with all taxes, registration, and at delivery payment determined so I could financing sorted + get a cashiers check tomorrow. Aside from the MVPA thinking I was getting a lease and the information was not correct, he mentioned the car arrived this morning and I could take delivery on Friday. I asked why so long and he said the service staff is backlogged. I was dissapointed he never reached about finalizing all financing and remaining details.
We ended up making an appointment for 3/10 in the morning but I'm available any time to pick up the vehicle. I was made to feel like I was inconveniencing him, and when I'm paying this much for a car I wasn't expecting that and I was expecting more proactive service with great communication from order until delivery.
Based on what I've read on forums and what I've spoken to at the Show Room from my 2-3 visits since ordering, it seemed like a relatively straightforward preparation process once they receive the vehicle. They'd apply updates, inspect the car, charge it up, and detail it that day and make it available the next business day.
Has anyone else had such a delay from showroom receiving the car to actually picking up the vehicle? I wanted to hear other members experiences before I reach out and try to see what can be done as it bums me out knowing my car is just sitting there with relatively simple steps to completion (updates, charging, detail).
