Why is taking WeatherTech so long to come out with X floor mats?

Seems odd that for a company that touts how high tech they are that they can't pump them out faster.

Were they similarly slow with S floor mats?

Some are speculating that Tesla might have struck a deal with them that only Tesla will supply WT mats. For the Model S you could buy from either.

Then there just may not be the volume of customers for WT to turn a profit and they are holding out until some larger number of cars have been produced.

They took almost a year after the refreshed Range Rover Sport came out to offer mats.

The sliding monoposts create some unique challenges for floor mats.

Without putting the mat on two planes (like the floor is,) you can't have a mat that simultaneously covers the entire for surface and stays put while the seats move.

I imagine that in addition to the new model design delays Weathertech is trying to figure out a sensible solution to this challenge.
