Why is the heated steering wheel STILL not persistent?

    The cold weather has returned to Southern Ontario and it bugs me that I have to manually turn on the heated steering wheel. Why? The front seat heating state is persistent, why not the steering wheel heater? Surely this is a simple software fix!

    I wish I had that problem. Missed the heated steering wheel by a week!

    I missed the heated steering wheel too but what bothers me is that the passenger's heated seat stays on by default. I can't see the reasoning behind that one. Fortunately, the rear seats turn off but I always have to turn the passenger's seat off and sometimes forget and see that it's on.

    I think that the absence of a way to:
    1) turn on heated rear window;
    2) turn on heated mirrors;
    3) turn on heated st.wheel;

    through the *App* - so that the car is nice and warm and completely ice free when youre getting in -

    is the dumbest, dumbest thing I know about my car. Unless it's technically impossible, I think it's crazy by tesla not to activate such basic features.

    I sure hope we'll see an improvement here when the the App-refresh arrives nex month!

    I doubt it as the Tesla engineers don't understand these issues living in California. They need to take their cars to Lake Tahoe to go skiing more often and then they would get it.

    I once went by Tranmere for service during a snowstorm. Our loaner got stuck. They had a loaner tech from California - he was tasked with digging us out. Was hilarious to watch. I actually had to roll down the window and give him some tips on snow shoveling.

    So yeah, California dudes don't understand winter.

    I totally agree - you should be able to activate defog remotely.
