Can someone tell me the reason of why TM choose a wheel size that is poor in tires options? 20" has all kind of tires available.
To give a better appearance by filling the wheel wells, most likely. From most other standpoints, 20" would have been the better choice. Indeed, that's what the Model S's competitors use.
Because everything else looks small on the Model S. It is such a big car it swallows up smaller wheels. 19s on most other cars look huge but on the MS they look dinky.
Yeah when I speced 19" rims (had never seen them) I thought no way they could look small. And well I was wrong. Still think they are the smarter move. I would agree that 21" are purely aesthetic, and looked better than 20"s.
No idea. Having 20" option for the turbines would have been smart IMO. Because Tesla does not offer 20" turbines, they lose my business there and I will be going aftermarket after my goodyears need replacement. I particularly like the look of these from this thread http://www.teslamotorsclub.com/showthread.php/22925-Just-as-I-thought-the-P85-couldn-t-get-any-better-)
My setup in 19s will be done next week and I will post up pics. I like the way it has come out so far. A more aggressive offset fixes the looks too small problem a bit
