Why use poor quality switches when others are available? The Frunk 50cent status switch has failed and there appears no way to replace it easly?

Do I really have to replace the whole frunk latch just to fix a very cheap switch that causes the frunk open message on the drivers display to appear and that I have to cancle but it still stops several of the other functions from working?
Is there a better aftermarket solution to this recuring problem?
