If you cancel before delivery, and then buy another Tesla, doesn't the 2500 get applied to the new one? If the OP is looking at an X anyway...

And I agree with the general sentiment... there is no chance than somebody is going to buy this without a reasonable discount, plus the discount associated with the tax credit.

Does the Happiness Agreement still exist? If so is Lease and then immediately chop it in for an MX instead an option?

Not sure if it still exists, but your still responsible for all the out the door payments. You just get to turn in with no additional costs.

So, would be more than the $2500

Didn't read any find print on Happiness Agreement, but I'll assume Happiness Agreement doesn't include the sales tax, so he will still lose $6400+ on sales tax + documents fees

Or you might find someone dumb who doesn't know about tax credits & such things who'll buy the car at the high price and get ripped off. That could be the goal here...
