A friend of mine also has a Model 3 and our workplace just installed a bank of Tesla wall chargers for our use, so we've been experimenting with them the past couple of days. They're on three-phase power so when we plug either car in we are seeing 208V/40 amps, or 8.32 kW. When charging at this rate the car reports that it's adding 30 miles of range per hour.
Oddly enough, my friend's Model 3 still reports 30 miles of range per charge hour when he is at home, charging on his mobile charger from a NEMA 14-50 with the car is pulling 240V/32 amps, or 7.68 kW.
It would seem that if 7.68 kW at home gives him 30 miles per hour (which it very consistently does, for months now, he reports), that the 8.32 kW charger at work would show more than 32 miles per hour instead of the same 30 miles per hour.
Any ideas why the car is reporting 30 miles per hour whether charging at 8.32 kW or at 7.68 kw?
