Maybe when the Tesla arrived, there was some other car where the Leaf is now, which was parked badly, forcing the Tesla to go outside of its bay?

Looks like the Leaf is right on the line. If that's the way it was when the Tesla arrived, they probably should have used the other station.

Those appear to be narrow 'stalls'. You have to think about how wide open neighboring car doors open. I'm not sure you are visualizing that correctly.

In addition to the others commenting on the Leaf's parking, there could have been a car there before the Leaf that the Model X had to adjust for, and that prior car had left and was replaced by the Leaf, leaving the Model X looking like the asshole when really it was someone who'd already departed.
