If 20mm spacer will be ok that means studs are just 2mm too long. I will grind off the tip. It would not hurt anything.

Most likely an innocuous task that will work, but you will def mess up the threads in case the hub ever needs servicing.
Also, while I’m all about MacGyver’ing stuff, this one I wouldn’t do. Get the right spacers...

Reviving on old thread. Does anyone know the safest size type 2 you can use before you need to go bolt on spacers? I see 5mm on some and even up to 8mm. Thanks!

On a Model S, the maximum safe type-2 spacer is 10mm... over 1cm you will need the bolt-on type.

It will kick up a smidge more road debris, but the look is far more of a payoff than what a few rock chips way down low on the rockers will cost. I have more of an issue with flying rocks from the vehicle in front of me or oncoming traffic.

Has anyone landed on ideal specs for a staggered setup on the Palladium platform? I want to order 22's for my 2022 LR which will be here in March but have not been able to find the best offset for 22x10 front and 22x11 rear? I really don't want to run with old gen specs with 22x9 and 22x10 and have to run spacers to get flush results.

Did you figure this out? I have a set of pull offs from the plaid to put on my raven Model S. I need spacers for the rear wheels to stop it rubbing

I think you are still in the pre-2021 Model S, right? The new palladium has a totally different suspension/fender well setup and allows for much wider wheels and tires with a much more aggressive offset.
