Thanks TEG this is actually quite good in my humble opinion. By chance have you read the book Sustainable Energy - Without all the Hot Air. So far it is heads and shoulders above any other book on the subject and realistically lays out the challenges in getting to a sustainable future. From his research the closest thing we have to a silver bullet is the electric car.
Must second that. Lots of detailed information compiled to bolster discussions on EVs and how they could make renewable energy an economic success.
Author is David MacKay, Physicist, FRS, and Advisor on the UK Govt on Energy. He published it online: http://www.withouthotair.com/
The book is considered a must read for all members of parliament.
There are a couple of strawmen though.
