Will Model X come with autopilot 7.0

I imagine Musk will want to showcase Model X next week with all the new autopilot features. So will Model X come of the assembly line with 7.0 autopilot features and if so then is Model S 7.0 release coming at the same time. I'm like a little kid before Christmas I just can't wait.

That would be cool, but I am fine waiting until they are sure it is really working well enough to be safe. I'm not that anxious to be an early adopter for something like this actually!

Since all the Xs being delivered on the 29th are Founder's cars, it's safe to say they're all in the early access (beta) program. So yes, they probably will come with 7.0 and autopilot. That has no bearing on when those features will make it into the S, or even into Signature Xs.

It's possible to ship 7.0 without Autopilot. The initial round of leaked 7.0 screen shots showed a new UI skin, but otherwise unchanged apps and no Autopilot function. I would expect 7.0 UI to roll out in conjunction with Model X, but neither will get Autopilot if it isn't ready or still in Beta.

This makes sense to me as well. It seems awfully risky to tie Autopilot to 7.0 with a vehicle launch on the line. If you have a new UI incoming, you don't want to launch your new vehicle with the old interface and a "we're going to change this entire interface in a month or two, promise" disclaimer.

If both are ready, great, but if Autopilot is not, at least being able to launch the new UI gives them something to talk about.

I don't think that's necessarily true. The leaked 7.0 shots were of cars which didn't have the autopilot hardware. However, obviously there is no reason why they couldn't ship 7.0 without it.

There is also no reason why the Founder's Xs shouldn't have both, ready or not.
