Tesla will have trouble producing enough cells for its own use for quite a while. And the rest of the EV market will likely expand faster than a single supplier like LG can increase output. Lots of demand for everyone.
I haven’t heard anything that indicated Tesla intended to start selling batteries to 3rd parties. It sounded like their manufacturing capacity is to satisfy internal use. In fact, they intend to continue buying from other battery manufacturers, so it’s not even enough for their own internal use, at least at first. If other car companies wanted Tesla’s battery tech, I think it would be more like a technology licensing deal, manufactured somewhere else.
