Will the Gemini Rim’s increase the range of a Model 3?

Looks like the Model Y got a range increase to coincide with these 19” rims becoming standard. The stock 18” ones that were on the Model 3 are gone as an option. Does that mean that the Gemini would be the most efficient even with their larger diameter?

No. The old numbers weren't EPA verified and was Tesla just under promising. These are the new, official EPA tested numbers.

Good luck getting a set. I ordered back in the beginning of December and have had two failed attempts to pick them up. Next try is Feb 11th

I think that all it means is that the Model Y with 19 is going to do better than the 3
It may be that the 18 would do even better, but Tesla decided to just not do it on the AWD Y

I am not a big rim guy. I would do 18” rims if that would get more range.

The 19" Model Y Gemini rims looks the same with the wheel covers as the 19" Model 3 Gemini rims, but according to the Model Y owners' manual they're quite a bit bigger. The Model Y versions are 9.5" wide with a 45mm offset while the Model 3 versions are 8.5" wide with a 35mm offset.

I think it is likely that the 19" Model 3 Gemini wheels are very slightly more efficient than the 18" Aero rims. On the China website, it shows the Performance model, which comes with the Gemini wheels in China, as having 5 miles more range than the long range dual motor with the 18" Aeros. It sounds like you wouldn't lose range with the 19" Gemini wheels and you might gain a little.

Any follow up to this? Will the Y version fit the M3 19' wheel? Would there be range improvement?

The y's won't fit on the 3 without some work. Though there are Geminis made for the 3 which I run on my m3p. They gave about a 15% wh/m improvement over the stock 20s
