Will the interior camera be used in the future?

Hey guys/gals,

Are there any news about the interior camera being used at some point of time? It would be nice to be used as part of dashcam, or for sentry mode as well.

I do hear that it will be used when self driving Tesla taxis will be a thing, but are there any planned uses for that interior cameras for the time being? Thanks all.

I haven't heard of anything yet. It could be used as an additional camera for Sentry mode but the side and rear cameras already capture most of the same angles. Interior camera might be good to activate upon break-in to better see the intruder though.

That's my guess also. I wonder if it could be used to improve rear visibility? It is positioned above the rear view mirror so might have a better view over the high butt. It could help generate images for FSD or perhaps give a camera view on the screen? Looking forward to developments here.

Elon already said it would be on during rides if you use it as a robo taxi to make sure no one damages your stuff.

Wrong type of camera, in the wrong location, without any of the needed supporting HW to do so.
